Here's a modest contribution to your request :Jérôme Riou was born in Scaër (a small town in central Brittany in Finistère) birth date: 5th march 1882. He was killed in action July 2nd 1915. On the 1910 census his name was americanized into James Reo. He lived at 200 Washington ave with his wife Gabrielle, his daughter Lizzie,( Louise ) and son James jr as well as his mother-in-law. They had 7 Breton boarders, (two were members of my family :great uncles). Later on the family moved to 51, South street.  In a French book about the Bretons during the Michelin era, there's a photo of a 'glamorous' Louise (Lizzy) who had married a Michelin sales director. They left Milltown for  Hollywood ! You will find much more about them in the other censuses.

Jeannette, I have family from Scaër (a small town in central Brittany , too) My grandfather from Brittany worked for Michelin as a tyremaker, and returned to France in 1939. I retain the family home in Milltown, for fifty years.
