Milltown Historical Society

The MHS is a group of dedicated volunteers who collect, preserve, interpret, and teach others about the rich and varied past of the Borough of Milltown, in Middlesex County NJ.

We maintain two Victorian era homes on South Main Street which display our collections  and host docent-led annual school trips. We host an annual concert and educational lectures, and participate in Milltown Day. Our buildings are open to the public on select Saturdays, and serve as a meeting place for monthly membership meetings.

The Society has operated continuously since the 1960's, holding monthly meetings and participating in a variety of annual events. Our goals and focus have changed since the organization's inception, however. Now our research has broadened to study the history that was not recorded openly: the life experiences of immigrants and people of color, and investigating local fraternal organizations.

The Historical Society is always looking for new members who have an interest in Milltown history. For more information contact Barbara Wright at 732 828-0822.
