About Me:- Tell us about yourself
My family lived in Milltown from 1987-2000, i grew up there. I attended Good Day Nursery School, Our Lady of Lourdes School, and even Joyce Kilmer School for two years. I played recreational softball and participated in all sorts of other town activities, including marching in the 4th of July parade a few times. Now I am a graduate student at Rutgers University in the Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies Program. Although my personal interest in the preservation of Milltown history developed long before I started this program, I see it as an opportunity to finally get more involved. I'm currently taking a course in Architectural Preservation and would like to focus on a Milltown building for my final term project, a preservation plan of a historic building. Specifically, the Michelin factory, or the Raritan River Railroad Freight station, depending on the degree of access I am able to get. The Preservation Plan includes a history of the building as well as a detailed exterior and interior architectural description, before any preservation recommendations can be made. I would love to meet with members of the Historical Society or Milltown Revitalization to talk more about this project.
What is your interest in Milltown history?
see above.
