Milltown Floods

I know that Milltown flooded under Hurricane Irene. Does anyone have any OTHER stories of Milltown floods (20thC or 19thc)? Any early photos of the floods? I would be interested, or if I can be steered in that direction. Thank YouSee More

"Patti Pellichero, Bud's daughter, told me a funny story that she was "kidnapped" while visiting her Dad's  shop, when a fire whistle blew, and she was taken to the fire, or fire house with the firemen."

"Doug was his son and I went through school with him. My Dad used Bud as his barber for many years."

"I miss the old trees. back in the days of no air conditioning in the church, I would sit under them, or in the car under them, while my parents would talk with other parishioners on long hot summer days. They grew to be huge."

"Your grandfather was Doc Forney... Wow He was my Doc long ago. I did a painting of his house before it was torn down. Did you ever got to spend time with him? (You look kinda young) His dad was my dads Doc by horse & buggy in New Brunswick!"

Does anyone remember Bud Haefner's barbershop?

I would be interested in seeing old photos, hearing memories of Bud Haefners barbershop.I have many memories of going there in the 1960's Chicopee era. Bud and Charlie were a regular trip into town for me coming from Hardenburglane in the RFD rural times.I would stare at the old photos on the wall in Milltown, and sweep the floor for Bud.When Charlie Nenninger took over, I brought my also son to get his hair cut there. I tried to get Charlie to sell those great photos to me for my collection.…See More

Went to Doc Forneys & My dad went to his dad
Father worked Chicopee while I got my hair cut at Bud Haefners, watching parades on 4th of July & the train going to Chicopee.. The old steam Rariritan river Railroad engine.
Hung out as a kid by smalls and Vans, Ice cream at Lukach's

Our next meeting is this Tuesday, February 16th at the Annex Buiding, behind the Historical Society House on South Main St, near the firehouse.
